Brief Theme Description:

Wireless networks have become an integral part of our everyday lives, extending their reach into countless domains. Remarkably, they are now penetrating extreme environments such as the confines of a single chip, the interior of quantum computers, and the depths of underwater settings. While bringing wireless communication to such environments holds immense potential for transformative benefits, it poses extraordinary challenges due to severe constraints, including limited area, energy consumption, temperature variability, and mobility.
In this context, we are seeking a seasoned researcher in the domain of applied AI. The ideal candidate will have the expertise to apply their skillset to complex problems in electromagnetics and network design. Areas of focus will include, but are not limited to, channel modelling, protocol design, and resource allocation.
The targeted use cases stem from two prestigious EU projects: one funded by the ERC, focusing on chip-to-chip communication, and the other supported by the EDF, addressing challenges in underwater communication. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to ground-breaking advancements at the intersection of AI, wireless communication, and extreme environments.

Available Infrastructures: Potential access to testbeds for chip-to-chip wireless communication and underwater communications.
Possible Secondments: Several possibilities in Europe (CNRS, IBM Zurich), US (Northeastern University, Florida International University), or China (Shanghai Jiao Tong University).
Keywords: Wireless Communications; Computer Networks; 6G; Beyond 6G.
